The minimum age to get a learner’s permit in Indiana is 15 years old
In order to get a Learner’s Permit in Indiana, you must meet the following requirements:
You must be at least 15 years old
You may apply for an Indiana Driver’s License when you are at least 15 years old, as long as you are enrolled in a Driver’s Education course
If you are not enrolled in a Driver’s Education course, you must be at least 16 years old

In Indiana, a parent or guardian should accompany you if you are under age 18. The Proof of Financial Liability must be signed on the learner’s permit application by a parent, legal guardian. If there is no parent or legal guardian available, any other adult who is willing to assume the obligation of financial liability can sign
A vision test is required to obtain an Indiana Driver’s License or a Learner’s Permit, even if you are just renewing your Driver’s License or Learner’s Permit
A photograph will be taken at the Indiana BMV office
In Indiana, after you get your Learner’s Permit, you must hold the Learner’s Permit for at least 180 days before you are allowed to take the road test
